The Wingara Wine Group commissioned Design Energy to create two new labels to add to their existing La La Land range of wines. The inspiration for these wine labels is the whimsical, fantasy world of La La Land with a nod to the “Alice in Wonderland” story.
With the success of the first two stories, a third label, Pinot Noir, was created for the export market. Here there is a play on the inside, outside world within the chequered walls. These wrap-around labels allow the consumer to explore the story, whilst the finishes add that extra interaction of touch.
This edgy, inner city brand was designed for the city dwelling, design savvy market. Strong colourful graffiti graphics, untraditional and arty, they pack a punch on the shelf. Supporting point-of-sale collateral was also designed by Design Energy to ensure the whole brand remained strong and effective.
Elmswood Estate is situated in the Upper Yarra Valley with spectacular 180 views of the valley and surrounding hills. After a visit to the winery and discussion with the client, Design Energy decided to encapsulate this stunning view to create a sense of place. For a point of difference and shelf cut-through, we created a cut paper, collage feel to depict the artisan, hands-on style of wine making. Each varietal has its own colour way to depict the wine style. Embellishments of a rough linen embossed texture, gold foil and high build varnish add to its premium appeal, resulting in a very tactile label to engage the consumer.
We’re not just interested in making beautiful wine look good, we also like to taste beautiful wine. Founding director, Trish Dunstone, has just completed Level 2 WSET course to further her knowledge within the wine industry, her love of wine and exploring different varietals for from all over the world. She is more than happy to take ‘work’ home!
‘Down the Lane’ Shiraz Tempranillo wine label, created for De Bortoli Wines, has received a bronze award in the 2017 Harpers Global Design Awards.
